Canada Trip--Part #5--Fishing

My Dad has always had a dream of taking his grandkids fishing. To make that dream come to fruition, he bought a bunch of fishing equipment, got a fishing license and had us all pile into the cars on a rainy day and head to a little fishing pond in the town of Invermere!

Thankfully Uncle Steve was the family fishing expert so he and Grandad got us set up to catch some fish. All of the kids caught at least 1, some 2 or 3. We even kept a few to take home and grill! Each of the kids tried it and all in all it was a great way to spend a cloudy, cool day!

A cute Turtle! They were popping their heads up all over the pond!

My Handsome Boys!

Jackson's Catch!

Logan trying to net his fish with Brady looking on! Brady was so funny. He jumped about 3 feet backwards when he pulled his flailing fishy out of the water. After that he watched but maintained a bit of distance. I'm not sure why it startled him so much. Maybe he thought the fish would jump off the hook and attack him????

Nanny's fish.

Jackson gutting the fish. This was HILARIOUS!!!!! Uncle Steve wiped fish guts all over his hands and that, combined with major pressure from the rest of us convinced Jackson to step up and gut the fish! He was grossing out the whole time. We just laughed!

Tyler showing off his fish gut hands. Out of Spencer, Ty and Jackson, Ty won the prize for bravery during the gutting process! He was all about it!

Fishing was so much fun since most of the kids hadn't done it before. Thank goodness the town of Invermere stocks the pond with fish, otherwise I don't think we would've had such a fun, exciting time!

That picture of Jackson is awesome! And of course Brady was scared of the fish, he's scared of little furry dogs, so slimy fish are way scarier!
