6 Weeks Old

Sorry its been so long since I've posted pictures of Reecey Poo so here's a little update! She turned 6 weeks old this past Tuesday and is doing so well. She was never a bad baby but she was a little demanding in her earlier weeks of life but now it seems like she's finally getting used to the world she lives in. She is perfectly content now to lay on the couch or the floor and look around and she'll even let her siblings hold her again. She's doing great at falling asleep on her own, and is kind of to the point that she prefers it, after sufficient cuddles of course. She also started smiling and "talking" these past few days and it is so fun!
On a sad note though I cut the tip of her finger yesterday when I was cutting her nails! Aaaaahhh! I feel so bad about it. The poor little chicken cried soooooooo hard...harder then I've ever heard her cry. Even though I know that almost every mother does it, I still feel so guilty. She seems to have forgotten the incident completely though. Poor little girl.

First Day of School!!!!

So I FINALLY was able to get the pictures posted of my kids first day of school. I've been trying to do it since Thursday but first my pictures wouldn't download and then blogger was being lame so here I am...finally.

My kids started school this past Thursday and let me just tell ya how wonderful the past 2 days have been. I was so ready for them to go back and so ready to get in a normal routine.

But...enough about me. Jackson started 2nd grade and Natalie started Kindergarten this year. I think Jackson was excited to start school, even though he acted like he wasn't because being excited for school isn't cool. But he did tell me that he was excited to go to school so he could wear his new shoes. Isn't that a total girl thing? Anyways, he likes his teacher and knows some kids in his class so what more could a 7 year old ask for?

As for Natalie, she was bouncing off the walls with excitement. She goes to Kindergarten in the afternoon and asked me every 15 minutes if it was time to go yet. When we got to the school she was all smiles and was pleased to see her friend from dance, Natalie Z, in her class. She also told me she likes her teacher because she's pretty. Too cute!

Outside the school when I dropped Jackson off in the morning. The sun was really super bright so they all look silly but oh well.

Jack waiting in the gym to go to his class. They had all the students meet there since its a brand new school and actually wanted to make a welcome speech to parents and kids but it got too crowded so they ended up kicking the parents out before the speech.

Natalie outside the K doors. The little girl behind her in line is her friend Natalie.

The outside of the school. For those who don't know my kids are starting in a brand new school this year. Its kind of cool but also kind of not cool because they don't have books in the library or grass for the playground yet. They've been having recess out on the black top where they don't even have basketball hoops or tether ball poles. I asked Jackson what they did for recess and he said they ran around in circles on the black top. The visual of that made me laugh! Also, when we were waiting in the Gym I asked Jackson if he would be embarassed for me to take a picture of him with his teacher and he said that he would be. Too funny!

Happy 3rd Birthday Brady!!!

WOW! Every year when one of my kids has a birthday a wonder with nostalgia and sadness where the time went. I know its cliche but seriously it seems like yesterday I was holding a tiny "Bwae Bwae Ahbut Binka-off" instead of a tiny Reecey. I read a section in Parents magazine one time when they asked readers to share the best advice they ever received. One lady said that when she had her first baby her mother in law told her to always remember that days are long but years are short. Its so true! I can't believe that Brady is already 3!
Enjoy the montage!

Park Day, Football and Reece is 3 Weeks!

Its been really super hot here this past week but last week, when my mom was still here and before it got blazin' hot and humid we took the kids to the park to get them out of the house. We had a great time and even Reecey enjoyed being outside.

I love the look on Natalie's face in this picture

Brady loves to dig in the sand. A big difference from last summer when he wouldn't even touch sand.

The other exciting thing is that Jackson started football. Last year he played flag but this year he's in full pads with full contact. So far he's had a week of conditioning and then a week of player evaluations. We were very proud of him because he worked super super hard and had a really great time! He almost even made the final group to be considered for the travel team, but thankfully he wasn't chosen for that. This post-partum mama couldn't handle that at this point! Anyways, its great seeing him having such a wonderful time and actually being enthusiastic about playing. Its a huge difference from his attitude in baseball this past spring!

Striking a football pose

Just saying cheese!

tapping in to his inner rage!

What a cute kid!

Last, but certainly not least is an update on princess Reecey! Now that she's feeling more comfortable in the world she has decided that she can behave like a princess. At first she just fussed when she was hungry and when she was sleepy. Then she added fussing in the evenings to her repetoire. After a few days of that she started fussing in the mornings when we were all trying to get ready for the day. Now she pretty much fusses the second she is put down. In fact the last couple of days I've been worrying that she, by nature, is a fussy, cranky little girl who will never be content. I don't know if that's an irrational fear but it seems that she's only ever content when she's being held. I know that it could be worse because she sleeps pretty well and she's almost always consolable, but it does get difficult to get things done when you have to hold a baby every moment she's awake! I'm trying my very very best to enjoy every minute with her since she is our last and I know how fast time flies! Before I know it she'll be a 5 year old who's starting Kindergarten!

I think this picture is hilarious. It was like she was telling us to shut up!

I put this picture in to prove that she's getting bigger. Notice the double chin!

This one is cute because you can totally see her little chicken leg!

I can't believe how big her eyes are...especially on her tiny little face. She'll for sure need to grow into her eyes.

Sleepy girl. Her little hand sticking out was so cute!
