September and October

Okay...2 things.

1st--I have been the biggest blogging loser this year! I promise to do better from here on out!
2nd--It is ridiculous just how fast time goes! Seriously. I know you all know it too but I must find a way to slow down the clock! Every day is over before I even know it!

Now on to an update.

School started at the end of August. This year is a little different for me for several reasons. The first is that even though all the kids are at the same school, Jackson leaves earlier then Natalie, Brady. He leaves the house at 7:40 to be to school by 8:00 and the other kids leave at 8:55 to be there by 9:15. He then gets home at 2:15 and the other kids get home at 3:30 but its been nice for him to unwind a bit before the other kids get home and before he has to take off for practice. Another change this year is that Reece is at school 4 afternoons a week. She goes to preschool at the kids elementary and loves it. This leads me to the last change which is I have a job! That's right! I actually have a job that pays me money! I work at the school Tuesday-Friday for an hour and fifteen minutes helping 3rd graders and 6th graders with math and reading. Its been pretty fun but its also been an adjustment since my days are cut shorter. Anyways, here are the pictures from the first day of school!

JB ready for his 6th grade year!

Kings of the castle. JB with his friends, from left to right, MJ, JB, Mason, Steven, Brigham and Ross. His friends Brendon and Landon are in the background, (I'm not sure why they didn't jump in) and there are a few other boys that are missing too.

Natalie and Brady

Natalie Rae--4th grade

Brady Robert--1st grade

Lindsay and the kids walking over to the school!

Natalie and one of her besties, Maddy

Brady, Natalie and Madison

Reece Annelynn--Pre-School! (yes, she is wearing the same shirt that Madison is wearing on her first day of school)

Sitting on the steps waiting to go to class.

Reecey with her husband, oh I mean buddy, Britton. These 2 are hilarious. They seriously act like an old little married couple. Brit's mom and I wear dying laughing over this picture and the placement of Brit's hand on Reecey's thigh. HILARIOUS!!!!

A few weeks into school the kids got to have crazy hair for what else? Crazy Hair Day!

Jackson's Flock of Seagull do. He even came up with this on his very own!

Natalie and Brady being silly

Brady with his Redish, Orangeish, Pinkish hair

Natalie and her bun-hawk...also, her idea!

Reecey's zulu knots! I thought this was more cute then crazy!

The girls after their buns were taken out! They LOVED having their curly hair!

October began with Natalie attending a cheerleading camp at the high school. They went for a couple of hours one night to learn a cheer/dance that they would perform at the Varsity game that week. She did GREAT and had so much fun despite the absolute FREEZING temperature! She's in this picture in the back corner...of course I was sitting on the exact opposite end of the bleachers from where she was performing!

Natalie and Madison with Sadie. Sadie ran a cheer camp in the summer for the neighborhood girls and is the daughter of one of my friends. She's a cutie and the girls LOVE her!

On October 15th my best friend Shannon got married! It was such a joyful day and she looked absolutely STUNNING! Her husband John is an amazing guy who adores her! I'm so happy for them!

Of course we got 'Chargered' when the Denver Broncos played the San Diego Chargers. These pictures don't do the damage justice. Thanks to our friends and neighbors, the Aceves' who FINALLY got us back after we 'Broncoed' them 2 years ago!

The end of October brought us fall break so of course we headed off to Denver for a fun filled weekend. It seems like our trip there are always such a whirlwind of activity but we have so much fun and its amazing how much we can slam jam in to a few short days! We arrived Thursday afternoon and were able to hang out at LouLou and Papa's on Friday. Then that evening we headed downtown to the Scream Scram 5K where Taylor and Phil were running!

Me and my pretty girl

Look who we found! ROCKY!

Taylor and Phil with their pre race stretching!

They're in there somewhere!

Phil with the sunglasses handoff. He was going for a personal best and he accomplished his goal, even though I can't remember his time. I think it was somewhere in the 27 minute range.

Taylor was also going for a personal best. He ran cross country this year and was never able to beat 20 minutes although he came SUPER close several times. It turned out this was his night! He beat 20 minutes and ran it in about 19:58!

After the run. He had NASTY blisters on the bottom of his feet! OUCH!

And what would a fall break trip to Denver be without football so of course on Saturday we headed out to watch Josh play. Its been a rough season for Josh since there were coaching changes made but it was great to see him play and so fun to watch him take some snaps as the QB.

Josh playing QB.
Jackson messing around with his dad and uncles at half time.

TJ being silly

LouLou's awesome hair!

Saturday night we headed to the church for Taylor and his best friend Andrew to receive their Eagle Scout award! Taylor is the first of the Torrey and LouAnne boys to get his Eagle and he made sure everyone in attendance knew it! It was hilarious as he threw TJ and Matt under the scout bus!

The boys taking their Eagle Oath

Yeah...these 2 are absolute clowns! They are so stinking funny and just pure entertainment! Congrats guys on an amazing accomplishment!!!!!

Sunday morning came with Ali and Phil blessing their sweet baby Peyton Lola! It was so fun to hang out with them all weekend and love one Peyton more. We actually met here when Ali and Phil came for a visit earlier in the month but I have no pictures of that. Anyways, Phil gave her a beautiful blessing and it was great to be a part of their special day!

The Brinks II with Ali, Phil and Peytie Pie.

The whole fam damily, including Phil's dad and stepmom.

Halloween snuck up on me this year but I was ready (barely) and the kids looked great!

Natalie as the prettiest BYU cheerleader EVER!!!!!

Brady as Captain America

Reecey as a Piggy Princess

Jackson as an Angry Bird.

Natalie and one of her besties, McKinley! Twiner cheerleaders. They came up with this idea MONTHS ago and they both looked DARLING!!!!!

Other notable events in October included Jackson's 12th birthday, his ordination to the Aaronic Priesthood and of course, my birthday! I love this time of year. Its so beautiful with the changing leaves and cooler weather. I just hope the gorgeous weather continues for a few more weeks!!!!

Happy Fall everyone!
